Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is quickly becoming a major public health concern, as it now affects 1 in 5 adults. At this time, most medical and dental offices do not routinely screen for this disorder. The goal of this course is to familiarize the participant with the pathophysiology of OSA, signs and symptoms that affect the client, and the consequences if it remains untreated. Most importantly, we will review how to screen clients for OSA, both extra orally and intra orally.
