PRESENTED BY DR. PAULETTE PILLERSDORF Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is quickly becoming a major public health concern, as it now affects 1 in 5 adults. At this time, most medical and dental offices do not routinely screen for this disorder. The goal of this course is to familiarize the participant with the pathophysiology of OSA, signs and symptoms that affect the client, and the consequences if it remains untreated. Most importantly, we will review how to screen clients for OSA, both extra orally and intra orally.

Dental professionals must maintain currency in radiographic interpretation skills and knowledge of anatomy in order to understand and utilize radiographs in practice. This webinar will provide a comprehensive overview of radiography in dentistry that will include:
  • Assisting dental hygienists with the interpretation of clinical findings including pathologies.
  • Following ALARA for client selection for radiographs, and open discussions dental hygiene professionals can have with client to allay fears associated with x-rays.
  • Record keeping and legal obligations regarding radiographs.
